another Obama appointee - Kirk - owes taxes

the skinny:
this guy actually sounds honest… according to the Washington Post, he donated all the income from his appearances to his alma matter. but he was still supposed to pay taxes on those donations.
it’s hard to know: if he has a professional accountant, how did the accountant not catch that?
but he also overpaid on some of his returns. so, either he did his own taxes and/or had a terrible accountant.
LASTLY:
wouldn’t it be wonderful if they audited all the politicians that have served? and the ones that are currently serving? i’m sure so many more tax evaders - and/or people making honest mistakes - would surface. then we could fix whatever it is that’s broken - whether it be our complicated tax system or our political system
